3KM - FIRESTARTER
Your first spark into OCR
Firestarter is the perfect introduction to obstacle course racing. At 3km long with minimal running between obstacles, this course lets you put your energy where it counts, tackling the challenges one by one.
You’ll face around 25 obstacles designed to test strength, balance and determination. Expect a full mix of OCR favourites, including heavy hauls, monkey bars, muddy sections and balance challenges. It’s engaging, achievable and seriously fun.
Firestarter is suitable for ages 10 and up and caters to a wide range of abilities. Whether you’re here for your first taste of OCR in a social, supportive environment or you’re lining up to chase a fast time, there’s a category to match your approach. Open and Competitive options are available.
Firestarter Youth (Ages 10–17)
Young athletes have their own Firestarter experience. The Firestarter Youth 3km is designed specifically for 10–17 year olds, with both Open and Competitive categories available.
The course mirrors the adult event but with selected elements adjusted, such as heavy carries and penalties, to create a safe, fast-paced and exciting challenge. The race is self-seeded, allowing competitive participants to line up at the front and those in it for fun to start further back. Choose how you want to race and make it your own.
